Learning the hard way

I spent most of the day keeping pressure off my back.

I alternated between ice, heat, my TENS unit, and muscle relaxers trying to make a dent in the pain.

I honestly believe that most of the trouble today, trouble that started well before dinner time Tuesday, was caused by stress.

When high stress situations occur, I handle them quickly--as quickly and efficiently as possible.

But I found myself tense. Almost constantly tense. And I think that tension, from my shoulders to my knees, caused the massive pain.

So from now on, I need to handle the stress without getting tense.

  1. I understand completely. I have muscle spasms across my upper back and neck all the time. I use heat wraps when I'm working on the computer. They last for up to 8 hours and really help a lot. Much better than having to take meds.

  2. I'm so sorry you're hurting, Rebecca. I'd tell you to go read a book, but I'm stuck on chapter 33. Tell you what: I'll send you what I have.
